Our experience exceeded out expectations.
Liked: The hotel is making efforts to be environmentally responsible with easy access to recycle bins, filtered water dispenser to refill water bottles, reminders of the water use for towels an sheets and bamboo security cards. The Front Desk is situated so that it would be difficult for anyone to slip passed and there were usually two staff members available who were cordial and helpful. The Bamboo security card with QR code provided secure access to the elevator and to the room. In addition to the lovely garden as part of the in-house restaurant, there are numerous green spaces nearby - Russell Square Garden to the north (practically next door), Bloomsbury Square Garden to the south, Queen's Square Garden (one block east) and Red Lion Square and Lincoln Fields are a few minutes walk from the High Holborn Rd and Southampton Row intersection. The hotel is located between Holborn and Russell Tube Stations and offers easy access to the Piccadilly and Central Lines and thus a quick ride to Covent Garden and Leicester Square (discount theater tickets kiosk). Nearby bus stops provide stairway free access to several bus routes (91, 98, 133, 14 among others) and give easy transport to numerous theaters and 10 Oxford and Regent Streets. There are also several very good reasonably priced restaurants within a 5 minutes walk. We found the lamb at Antalya Turkish Restaurant next door to be excellent. For those seeking American fast food, McDonalds and Taco Bell are located between the hotel and Holborn Station. And, of course, the buffet style full breakfast is noted in most reviews to be excellent - and it is. The garden view makes this a very pleasant 'wake-up' event. We found the rates to be very reasonable.
Disliked: As often mentioned in reviews, the noise level is high. However, the double pane windows do abate much of the noise. We visited during a exceptionally hot period in August when outside temperatures reached 29 - 30C. There is no AC and the room was very warm. However, the rotating fan kept the room comfortable enough so that we did not have difficulty sleeping. (We do live in the Southern US and are accustomed to high temps.) We normally visit London in late autumn and would definitely be happy to have another stay at the Bedford Hotel.

Liked: It turned out that my garden view room on the top floor was too hot as London was having heat wave and the staff happily found a room on the street side on a lower level. As my street view room had a lesser cost the very helpful man at the front desk arranged for a cost reduction.Additional to the above, as my Amex wasn't accepted I had to transfer funds to my visa which required an overnight system update. The staff permitted me to pay the next morning but check me in the earlier day.The helofullness shown is much appreciated 👏

A very pleasant stay at...
Liked: All the staff where really helpful and friendly. The bedding was of nice quality. The bar was well stocked. The lounge are nesr reception was smart and comfortable to use.
Disliked: The beds moved too easily and when moved whilst asleep. The single room was very small and was a little claustrophobic. The cost of the breakfast was a little pricey consudering the hotel was surrounded by decent places to get a good breakfast considerably cheaper.
