Convenient way station but not...

Liked: The location was very convenient to the Trans Canada Highway- perfect putt stop as soon as you enter the city. There was also a scenic view into the foothills facing west for the sunrise, and kitty corner to the hotel was a quaint sitting area and a rock garden.
Disliked: It was a very busy street with loud cars and mufflers. Various people were parking in the parking lot possibly to drink and party and whatnot from the looks of things. Not the most refined or safest part of town, but I managed to keep to myself with no incident. Bed mattress was pretty uncomfortable. No breakfast or any amenities really except a bar and VLT.

Liked: I liked hospitality of front desk boy and the manager. They tried their best in providing a higher rate room than what I booked. But I found that room too not clean. Carpet was giving moist smell as if carpet was cleaned long ago. When we complained, they offered another room which had toilet with yellow patches. Front desk boy was mentioning that those stains were not going with any method. Then we moved back to what they offered. We found long hair strands on pillows but we had no other option as I already paid the money and it was just before mid night we checked in.
Disliked: Hotel has a running bar and casino set up. When we are checking in, drunken people outside the hotel with poor dressing frightened my family. There were more of such people at parking lot, I felt like they may break in after I leave the car. This hotel already has low reviews which I did not check as we booked this hotel as our road trip got delayed and we had to stay in North battlefords. I think it’s some thing to do with hotel management, but I give 5 star rating for hotel staff and 1 for everything else.
