I stay in hotels regularly-this...

Liked: The location. It is within very easy walking distance of both railway station and bus station -which is excellent when you don’t have a car.
Disliked: This hotel is jaded, soul less and tired. It probably past its best sometime during the 1970s. It’s such a shame because it’s a good size overall, the rooms are spacious and the restaurant is large, it could be made to look lovely and as there are few hotels in the centre of Havant with such great access to public transport- Greene Inns really need to make some serious refurbishments.I stayed two nights in two different rooms. I asked to be moved the first night because of an intermittent loud vibrating noise -that sounded like a broken down air conditioning unit (although the rooms aren’t air conditioned). At least that room had a working over the bath shower, but the handbasin taps were broken and only one light in the room worked. My second room, on the top floor was enormous, with a big bed a small double glazed window, which could be opened and blackout curtains. All lights worked, so far so good- but it appeared they had forgotten to update the bathroom. There was a small rose that came out of the wall that dribbled water everywhere apart from vertically, probably chocked up with years of limescale. The mixer tap feeding the bath was hanging off the wall to the extent that any slight movement could have dislodged it together with the tiles behind it. The taps that operated the shower and bath were almost impossible to turn on. I omitted any attempt to have a shower. But I had a quiet night in this room.Breakfast left a lot to be desired. It’s hard to believe messing up a fry up-particularly if it’s made to order, but on my first morning, despite being up very early and there hardly being anyone in the restaurant -I waited ages to be served. When my breakfast did turn up -the plate was hot but the food was cold. Delivered by a member of staff who sounded as if she wished she was anywhere but where she was. On my second morning the full English was piping hot served by a very pleasant and cheery member of staff.

Passable

Liked: Comfy bed and clean sheets. A very nice lady at the reception welcoming us. Free parking. Nice location.
Disliked: It stank of old-dirty carpet and furniture, it was so hot in the room, no AC or anything remotely useful to cool down.
