It wasn't what I expected.

Liked: The coffee in the breakfast room was very weak. A little more selection would be great. Parking was difficult.
Disliked: Better coffee, more parking.

Pleasant

Liked: The cleaning staff were very kind. The mattress was comfortable, and the place was well located, although we had a car to get around.
Disliked: It’s not worth paying for the breakfast there. The breakfast room is quite small and can feel overcrowded depending on the time. Strangely, they only serve eggs on weekends, and during the week the options are very limited.

Liked: great location
Disliked: I have requested for a baby crib upon resevation, that's a week before our check-in and they even reply that crib is available and will provide extra sheets. On the day of the check-in, staff told me that crib is not available, baby is one month old very unsafe to sleep in the bed with adults.

Affordable, spacious room, good value...

Liked: The room was pretty clean except for some ants that were crawling around in the bathroom. Everything else was as expected - the room was spacious, with two good sized and comfortable beds. There was a fridge and a microwave but no kettle (which I guess is standard in the U.S.) The staff were all very professional, friendly and courteous. The air con in the room was very good. The location was great - five minute walk to 5th Avenue trolley station - also close to Balboa Park. The area was nice and we felt safe walking around even at night. The price was very good and the hotel was what I expected for that price.
Disliked: The ants that were crawling around in the bathroom and on one or two occasions on the foot of the bed.
