Fantastic breakfast; perfect location in...

Liked: Amazing breakfast with fresh baked pastries! Perfect location, safe and easily-accessed parking. The garden out back is peaceful. The sitting area (parlour) for guests is a nice touch. Oh, and don’t forget the Adirondack chairs set up enjoy an ocean-front coffee from the lovely shop just steps away.
Disliked: Nothing at all, but make sure you are ok with somewhat uneven floors. It’s a historical building: I loved the character!

Lovely view and great breakfast.

Liked: The breakfast was wonderful! Fresh croissants, fresh fruit, eggs, toast, coffee and tea. Aesthetically the Bailey house is quite nice. The bed was very comfortable. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. The gardens and views are amazing.
Disliked: We were taken aback when chastised for sitting at the table to have our coffee and tea, 15 minutes prior to stated breakfast time of 8:30 am. Apparently, you are supposed to take your drinks to the parlour. We were unaware of this. As the only guests in the place, we assumed we could have our drinks at the dining table. The table was already set and had the coffee, tea, croissants and fruit on plates.Our other concern was the structural integrity of the property. While all period homes have some settling, it was a little disconcerting to see cracks in the ceiling, walls and crown moulding. Add to that, the room was sloped so badly there was approximately an 8” difference from one side of the room to the other. Plus the floor had a bounce near the room entry. The entire second floor slopes drastically to the centre. There is no AC so it was quite warm at night, even with the windows wide open. It would be unbearable during the hot summer months.

A fine waterside heritage house,...

Liked: Beautiful heritage house on the waterfront in the centre of Annapolis Royal with a pleasant lawn by the waterside where you can relax in comfortable chairs. Our host was hospitable and helpful and has preserved the spirit of the house as it was built.
Disliked: The room was a bit too warm at night and we used the portable fan at full power. The weather was warm and humid so this may be an exception to the rule.

Liked: Breakfast was fantastic! Location was excellent with a beautiful sitting area overlooking the bay.
Disliked: A few updates of rugs, etc. would brighten this beautiful property.

Disliked: Breakfast - little less carbohydrates and more protein

Liked: Breakfast was amazing. Very delicious. Probably more food than we can eat.Everything was so clean. Our bed was extremely comfortable!
Disliked: Susan was sometimes extremely helpful and other times outrageously rude. Many comments should have remained as inner dialogue.

Comfortable, good location, host is...

Liked: Right by the ocean. You can sit by the water in comfy chairs. Nice room with comfortable bed and pillows. Food was good. Building is well maintained.
Disliked: Hairdryer didn't work. You have to be at the breakfast table sharp at 8:30 or the host won't be happy with you. You sit together with guests from other rooms, so you better like small talk. Hopefully you luck out and chat with friendly guests while you eat your breakfast. The host comes up with a set menu for each day. Nice table setting... pretty formal. One couple told the host that they didn't eat meat when they found out the meal was going to include sausages. The host wasn't pleased at all. She rolled her eyes and sighed. Mind you they didn't ask for a substitude or a different meal. You could tell she puts a lot of effort into the breakfast she serves, but I'd rather have a friendlier host and simpler/less food. Oh, also if you are going to check in later.. like 6pm instead of 3pm, you better let her know.
