Passable

Liked: the location was ideal for us. The bar was pretty good
Disliked: The top floor room was very warm; little air circulation , although 2 rather grubby fans were provided. the comunication between bar staff and kitchen was poor - specific instructions about "green salad with no red bits on it" came with tomatoes!!The hotel felt tired and needed to be upgraded.

Liked: The breakfast was excellent value and the location was great.
Disliked: The bed could have been bigger

Beautiful historical building and lovely...

Liked: Beautiful historical building in an amazing location. The room was really lovely with beautiful period windows and high ceilings. Very comfortable bed and nice and quiet.
Disliked: There was nothing to dislike, our stay was lovely.

Necessary as traveling from Southampton...

Liked: Breakfast was very disapointing, toaster not working, hot water unavailable in dining area. No great selection.Staff on reception friendly when available.
Disliked: As above breakfast. No great selection or hot water available for tea. Toaster also not available as like ours a certain way but did not come this way from kitchen

Very good

Liked: Bed was very comfortable and clean room. Lovely view. Good supply of coffee and milk and lovely touch of hot chocolate and biscuits in room too. Staff very welcoming
Disliked: Room was dated and cracks, paint coming off in top corners by window. Breakfast was good apart from undercooked bacon and no butter for toast.
