Remote weekend of bliss!

Liked: Absolute bliss! Place matched the description, was remote and tranquil and had all of the facilities we needed to meet our needs. The fireplace was an extra fab bonus!
Disliked: Nothing

Affordable and peaceful, but on...

Liked: The lodge is very clean and equipped with a fair amount of stuff for your stay. Log burner and supplied logs etc is a lovely touch. The location is stunning and so very peaceful. Communication is great, access is super easy self-service and all in all a very relaxing experience. The kitchen and bathroom are generally ok, but compared to other lodges, far from the best.
Disliked: We've stayed in a load of lodges since our last stay here and in comparison, everything here is a lot less luxurious. Although it is fairly cheap I must add. The kitchen equipment is a bit knackered to be honest. The frying pans were rusty / eroded / warped. Come on folks, just replace them regularly from IKEA or something. No excuse. The cutlery is as old as the hills the site sits on. No sharp knives etc. The hob is a futile adventure in patience. Trying to fry anything is almost impossible even on the highest setting. So as we were there with a grandparent and a kid and needing to cook regularly, it wasn't up to scratch. The windows are totally knackered as well. The bathroom one is falling apart and you dare not try to open it as the wood would fall off. With others having broken latches etc it all feels very tired and old.When showering you feel like you might fall through the bottom of the bathtub. Everything squeaks and wobbles. Again, it's probably super old and never been upgraded in a long long time.Everything is just a bit uncomfortable. Narrow sofas, wood block kitchen table chairs. Rustic yes, but after a long day your butt wants better.

Liked: Very cozy place, has everything needed for a family stay. Lovely territory in the forest. Friendly and helpful host.

Liked: It's a great place to stay if want to experience romantic Scottish countryside. This is our second time staying here. The fireplace is a great addition and makes it feel so cosy. Little play area for the kiddies.
Disliked: Nothing.
