Liked: This is an affordable place in an expensive city. The people are friendly who work there and the premises are fairly clean. I will stay here again if we come to NYC.

Really great for what it...

Liked: The staff was so friendly! Even before we arrived I had some questions and special requests and they wrote back immediately and were very accomodating. The breakfast was great (for a hostel). Lots of bagels and fruit and okay coffee. Very filling and gave staying Power for a day of sightseeing. Plus there was a lot of sweet stuff, donuts, cake etc that I didn't really try but looked good. The rooms and facilities were small but always clean, AC worked well...what more can you want.
Disliked: Well, it's a cheap hostel in NYC so you can't expect luxury. The rooms were very small, barely room to open a suitcase, the windows weren't the best so it could get noisy at night, AC was quite loud too. But get some earplugs and you'll be fine.

Liked: Great kitchen, snacks, and breakfast was amazing for a hostel, food kept coming. Met lovely people travelling. Location was brilliant, plenty of bathrooms,always available, noise level of other guests minimum. Beds comfortable and clean. For location and hostel standard and price considering where we were it was great.
Disliked: The AC unit in our room was horrible, terrible noise, couldn't change our room cos it was full. Kept us awake most of the night.

Worse than what I expected.

Liked: The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was better than what I expected. The location is great and safe.
Disliked: It was too loud, especially the noise from the street, which was very annoying. The toilet didn't have a sink, so to wash your hands, you either need to go to the next door, the shower area, or to your room, and this makes me question the cleanliness of that place a lot. It looked clean as it was free of hair. On the previous reviews, it was mentioned that they provide shampoo and body wash, dont expect little personal bottles or anything like that. And the mattress was very uncomfortable.
