Aliz Hotel Times Square

No regrets.

Liked: The hotel was well situated and price was good. Lots of good restaurants around and safety was not an issue. Rooms are small, but that’s NY… It has all it needs.
Disliked: Housekeeping was spotty. Two days out of six. Towels always available though.

Liked: Room was a decent size for NYC standards; fairly clean as well.We were provided free bottles of water and extra pillows when requested.
Disliked: We specifically inquired about free luggage storage upon check-in and were assured by the staff that it was available. However, when we returned to store our luggage for two days during our short trip to Chicago, we were told there would be a $30 USD charge per luggage, per day. When we asked about the discrepancy, the staff explained that the initial information came from a new hire who wasn’t informed of the policy. This miscommunication on their part should not lead to an unexpected charge for the guest. If we had known earlier, we would have arranged for storage elsewhere, but it was too late for that. This caused a lot of inconvenience. Many Pelotons in the gym were not functional as well.

Broken room = broken experience.

Liked: the food at the restaurant was very tasty and yummy. the free welcome drink at the bar was nice as well and the bartender was very friendly. The room and bathroom for an ADA was very big and accommodating for needs. lots of grab bars in the the bathroom around the tub and toilet. The location of the hotel was very close to times square and the theatres and next to a subway station, nice walkable distance to everything. The front desk was very accommodating to hold our bags before and after our stay times as well, so we didn't have to carry our bags around anywhere.
Disliked: there were multiple things broken in my room, the curtain didn't come down to keep the sunlight out in the morning, the deadlock on the door was hanging off the hinges, the toilet didn't flush well, and the AC didn't get lower than 72 (for 80 degree days!-and when I requested all of these things to be fixed by the front desk, they said it would get done by end of day and it didn't, it remained like that the whole stay. The bed was NOT comfortable and my back and neck was in a lot of pain by the end of the stay.
