Liked: We often use the Alexander thompson due to its location, value for money and lovely spacious rooms. It's also close to Central station so has great transport too. Staff are always gracious and helpful.

Liked: Stay was postponed and hotel refused to give us our money back when we asked and said it was not there fault. The holiday companies have gotta give you your money back so the hotel should do the same. I am not amused

Liked: Clean, comfortable and a great location with very friendly staff, all for an excellent price. Everything you need for a short break in a fantastic city.
Disliked: Some of the halls smelled like smoke. I appreciate the staff can't control what guests do in a large hotel but it was disappointing.

Liked: Very central location, they give you 50% discount on a selected car park. Staff were helpful. Breakfast opening times were very good.
Disliked: Breakfast wasn't great and I found the Wi-Fi unreliable.

Convenient old spot for a...
Liked: It's a pretty comfortable old hotel (B&B, no lunch/dinner). The location, very convenient for family members leaving by plane, train and car. The full Scottish breakfast.
Disliked: Funnily enough, the first night (I had to book it through the phone, as I had a hiccup through Booking) in the newest wing, the cracking sound of the room upstairs. On our way back, we had a much quieter room in the old part of the building; there, the light in the little side room (deluxe extra large? bed) was so faint!: it was a bit depressing while eating the nibbles we bought (all restaurants closed because of the coronavirus).
