Disappointing

Liked: The staff is super nice and the location is great. Only 2 blocks from Paddington Station and walking distance to Hyde Park. Also, the hotel is very clean.
Disliked: First of all, my reservation specifically included breakfast, but when I arrived they informed me they were no longer serving breakfast and that they would give me back 5 pounds per day. The problem is that with that money there's no way you can get a proper breakfast outside. Secondly, the bed was really old and terribly uncomfortable. I could feel the springs digging into my back. Finally, they charge you 5 pounds per suitcase for leaving them after check out, when most hotels let you leave them for free.I do appreciate that they changed me (free of charge) to a double room, even though I paid for a single. As I only stayed for 2 nights, it was ok. But I don't think the place is worth what they charge.

Liked: The location is amazing, a short walk to either Paddington station for further travel or through Hyde park to get to the museums on the other side, along with a great selection of bars and eateries in close proximity. The main reason to stay here is the location and it's a bed for the night.
Disliked: The room itself was very hot and without air con; I was on the top floor and since it is a converted house there is no lift so it's hard work carrying the suitcase up all the stairs. The bathroom was very small and I kept knocking myself on the door or wall, there wasn't any room to wash myself properly in the shower and the price felt a bit much for what was offered overall

Disliked: When you're paying on the lower end, for a shared bathroom, your expectations aren't high.But you should be warned in advance that you're in a makeshift bedroom, sat right next to the reception desk.Every time the doorbell rang, and people check in, you're a thin wall between all the noise and conversation of guests and the staff on the phone, into the early hours.That, along with quite low cleaning standards in the shared bathroom (dirty towels on the floor etc), it makes for a disappointing stay, even if you aren't paying a lot by London standards.
