The Spotlight on Adamson Hotel

Classic Scottish Comfort Just Outside the City

Modern meets traditional at the Adamson Hotel, a fully refurbished Scottish coaching inn tucked away in the peaceful village of Crossford. With a countryside vibe and only a 20-minute drive to central Edinburgh, this hotel is a charming base for any music lover looking to explore the city’s vibrant concert scene—without the city-center noise.

The hotel blends rustic charm with updated comfort, offering cozy rooms, free Wi-Fi, and a warm local welcome. You'll find plenty of space to relax after a big night, and easy access to major roads like the M90 makes getting to and from shows a breeze.

Why Concert-goers love it

Concert fans appreciate the easy drive into Edinburgh for major gigs, without having to deal with the hustle (or cost) of staying downtown. The hotel’s free parking and quiet village setting make it ideal for a restful night post-show. With check-in from 14:00 and check-out at 11:00, there’s just enough flexibility to suit most travel plans, especially if you're heading to an evening concert.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends on a weekend music trip
  • Solo travelers heading to see their favorite artist
  • Couples looking for a romantic concert getaway
  • Fans who want a peaceful post-show retreat
  • Budget-conscious guests who want value without sacrificing comfort

Food and Drink Options

The on-site Tempus Lounge serves up classic pub meals made with local ingredients—think steak pie and fish & chips. While there’s no 24/7 dining or room service, the restaurant is a reliable option for a hearty pre- or post-concert bite. Breakfast is available the next morning, perfect if your night ended late. Several local eateries are also within a short drive.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself is more about tranquility than tunes, Edinburgh’s buzzing nightlife is just a short drive away. Think bars, clubs, and live music venues throughout the city—then return to the calm of Crossford for some well-deserved rest.

What People Say

Guests highlight the hotel’s clean, modern rooms, friendly staff, and the excellent value for money. Many mention that it's a great base for exploring nearby cities and appreciate the free parking and great food in the lounge. The peaceful atmosphere is often praised after a busy day or night out.

Areas for Improvement

The hotel doesn’t offer late-night dining or on-site nightlife, so plan your post-concert meals accordingly. Some rooms may be on the smaller side, but they’re still comfortable and clean.

The Bottom Line

If you're after a quiet, affordable stay within easy reach of Edinburgh’s top music venues, the Adamson Hotel hits all the right notes.

Passable

Liked: Room was nice. Unfortunately stayed here on a very hot day at 28 deg C. Rooms do not have and air con or even a fan. Although generally this would not be a problem, upon entering the room at 1800 in the evening, it was like a sauna. Two small windows did not help. In hot weather, fans need to be put into room. It was unbearable until early hours of Saturday morning. Other than the hot room temperature, the hotel was very nice
Disliked: Room temperature was unbearable as a hot day. No fan, air com and only small windows. Might be an idea to offer fans to rooms on hot days. Windows are to small for any air flow.

Nice place to stay for...

Liked: Nice hotel, bar and restaurant was lovely, well appointed and welcoming, decorated to a high standard. The evening meal was really nice and the food was great, definitely try the Steak Pie! Evening staff were very friendly and accommodating. Room was good size, comfortable bed, nice big walk in shower. Good breakfast selection.
Disliked: Only niggles with the room were the coffee mugs had clearly not been cleaned, both had coffee/teas rings, one also had hair inside. The water pressure to the shower was really poor, it could also do with regrouting as it's not looking good, and maybe a really good clean around, there was also long hair stuck to the wall. Breakfast layout could do with a little rethink, toasters were very very slow and the warm food trays could do with lift-up lids, instead you had to take them off, and as there was no where to put them you had to balance them top of another one to get the items, this meant anyone else had to wait because they couldn't access the food in other trays until the lids were moved.

Very nice hotel and used...

Liked: Very nice hotel, booked to get to Edinburgh airport after travelling from the north. Staff very friendly, we had to leave quite early the next morning so didn't have breakfast - rooms good and plenty of car parking. Excellent value for money, we booked 2 rooms. Nice to have plenty coffee/tea and a kettle and those little biscuit things, - I always think that is a nice touch to have in any hotel.
Disliked: Nothing, all good.
