The Spotlight on Ace Hotel

Stylish, Music-Loving Boutique Hotel in the Heart of Manhattan

Modern, eclectic, and full of personality, the Ace Hotel is a boutique gem located in vibrant Midtown Manhattan. Housed in a historic building and brought to life by local artists and designers, this hotel blends creative flair with upscale comfort. Just a 10-minute walk from Madison Square Garden, and steps from subway lines, it's a perfect base for concert-goers looking to stay close to the action.

Why Concert-goers love it

You can’t beat the location—just minutes from major NYC music venues and only a 3-minute walk to Herald Square subway station, making late-night returns a breeze. The 24-hour front desk and 12:00 PM checkout mean you can sleep in after a late show. Plus, the lobby often features live music, adding to the creative, music-friendly vibe without the noise creeping into your room.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends will love the artsy, social atmosphere. Solo travelers can grab a coffee at the buzzing Stumptown café or catch a live set in the lobby. Couples will enjoy the romantic vibe of the unique, individually designed rooms. If you're a fan needing a quiet place to recharge, the rooms offer stylish comfort with modern soundproofing. And for budget-conscious music lovers, the central location saves big on late-night transport.

Food and Drink Options

The hotel offers two on-site dining options, including the charming Koloman Restaurant. For a more casual vibe, grab a late-night espresso or pastry at Stumptown Coffee Roasters. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the surrounding neighborhood has plenty of late-night eats within walking distance. Breakfast is available for those who need a slow start after a big night out.

Nightlife Options

Don’t skip the lobby lounge, where you’ll often find live music sets and a cool crowd. The surrounding neighborhood is packed with bars, speakeasies, and lounges, all within easy walking distance. Whether you're after a craft cocktail or a quiet glass of wine, there's something nearby to match your post-concert mood.

What People Say

Guests rave about the creative decor, friendly staff, and unbeatable location. Many mention the hotel’s cool, buzzing atmosphere and say it’s a top pick for music lovers and creatives. The rooms are noted for being clean, comfortable, and full of personality. Bonus points for the excellent coffee shop right in the lobby.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention the rooms can be on the smaller side, which is pretty typical for Manhattan. The hip lobby scene can be lively, so if you’re looking for total peace and quiet, request a higher floor.

The Bottom Line

With its artistic flair, great food and music on-site, and a location just minutes from major venues, the Ace Hotel is a top pick for concert-goers who want to stay where the energy is.

Absolutely awful

Disliked: I've stayed in hostels that were better kept up than the room this hotel put me in for my single room booking for close to $300 per night. There was mold in the shower, a broken air system that rattled the whole room, lighting that looked like you were in a dungeon, no night stand or lighting near the bed, and "decorative" posters up against the bed of disasters where people died. I wish I was kidding. The Hindenburg blimp on fire, over 1K dead in a ferry capsizing, train crashes, etc. That was what I had to look at as the first thing when I woke up. I had to call a maintenance engineer at 3:30am to turn off the rattling air system that made it impossible to sleep. I finally got moved after taking photos of how awful everything was. Never staying here again and would suggest people save themselves from the horrors of this dump.

Perfect stay with a perfect...

Liked: Love the vibe and aesthetic of the hotel. Perfect location because its not too near all the hustle and bustle but Times Square is just a scenic and energetic 25 min walk away. They even accommodated a late check out for my daughter and I and kept our luggage until our train came.
Disliked: Ice machine didnt work.
