AC Hotel by Marriott San Jose Santa Clara

Affordable, clean, modern, and luxurious...

Liked: The room was clean, and I especially love that there is hard flooring vs. carpet. It made the stay extra comfortable. It's a quiet location. Staff was incredibly helpful. They helped us with a phone charger and loaned us wine glasses before we got to the room and discovered two stemless glasses in the mini fridge. We also had a warm and lovely interaction with a housekeeper when we left for check out. She was incredibly sweet. Room temperature was easy to control. The room had GREAT lighting. Not too bright, keeping the room comfortably lit. The shower was very clean and spacious. I appreciated the all-around glass and square shape. I didn't feel as enclosed as I usually feel in hotel showers. The shower gel provided was decent quality, too. The entire property has great aesthetics, especially the interior. Parking was easy and close to the hotel. We had a view on the side that overlooks the freeway. The majority of the view was mountain scape and blue skies though. And there was no noise from the freeway.
Disliked: I do wish the pillows were a bit more comfy. However, being hotel pillows, they were just fine for one night. Even though the lighting was exceptional throughout the room, I do think the vanity light on the mirror in the bathroom could be a bit brighter or just a bit more lighting in the bathroom would be nice. If I had to do makeup, I would prefer more light. I did love the shower. However, it was a little odd that the sink mirror is directly across from the shower, which is all glass. I didn't mind, but I could see this being uncomfortable for some people. The towels were clean and fluffy. However, they did leave a bit of fuzz left over on the skin after drying. Was slightly annoying to deal with, but it was not terrible.The toilet is very modern compared to standard hotel toilets. It's wider than most. I didn't mind but my boyfriend did find it a bit uncomfortable. I think it just took some getting used to.

Disliked: The bathroom in the rooms are our only dislike. It didn't have a fan and the doors had opening on the top which didn't provide and privacy ; however they did have bathrooms in the lobby that did .

AC Santa Clara a great...

Liked: Breakfast was very yummy. Bacon a little thin but tasty. Melon was ripe and delicious. Pastries very good and the sour dough bread as you would expect for being near San Francisco. The place was clean and quiet.
Disliked: Disappointed they didn't have the bar open on Saturday night and we had to go out for dinner. The last time we were there the 49ers had their play off game and all the services were available.
