Liked: I absolutely loved Alex at the front desk. He was attentive and kind enought to search dinner locations for us. The room was spacious and quiet. I felt very safe in and around the hotel. TAHE VIEW was amazing of the lake.
Disliked: Although I was grateful, I did not like having to stay in a double room when I reserved a King room. There was no microwaves or refrigerator in the room, that was disappointing. The bath tub was difficult to drain. The parking rate of $75 a night was horrible, but it's downtown so it was expected. Even with those minor concerns we enjoyed the stay and the staff. I would stay there again.

Liked: I love this property. I have stayed over 10 times here and love the location.
Disliked: No where in booking or their website they said that the bar area was under construction. I love meeting up with my friends at that bar. That was the main purpose of booking this hotel.

Overpriced for an outdated hotel...
Liked: The bed was comfortable, sheets were clean feeling and comfortable. The lighting in the room was softer than you see in most hotels which made for a nice ambience. I liked the variety of lighting, which is not typical in hotels and actually one of the reasons I chose the hotel (reviews stating the hotel had a "homier" and "cozier" feel). I liked the atmosphere of the lobby which I would describe as dark, masculine, and moody.
Disliked: Rooms in the pictures are accurately depicted in terms of what the finishes of the room look like, however, on close inspection, they have been very "used" and are in need of updating and cleaning. For example, the finishes were at one time nice and luxe (perhaps 10 years ago) but now are in disrepair. The shower has now unremovable hard water stains and leaks out onto the floor, the what-sounds-like-a-lovely-feature of a rainfall shower head no longer functions because the rubber heads are long eroded away, no fan in the bathroom (removes the romance aspect in a shared room), dings and marks on the walls, dings, scuffs, scratches on the furniture, icky looking stains on the once probably modern and luxurious-feeling velvet armchair.
