Pros: The gracious reception and hospitality provided by staff was amazing throughout our 5 day stay. We were celebrating a special occasion and were literally given the royal treatment-beautiful upgraded room, expert guidance on great restaurants and area sites from concierge team -Tamara and Tyler - and impeccable service from housekeeping staff. A special thanks to Asher on the evening team! The Driskill is a historically rich and relevant part of downtown Austin and we relished sharing in that experience. This was truly a memory I will treasure for a lifetime??

Pros: Location was perfect. Facilities are great. The ball rooms on the mezzanine are beautiful. Bar and restaurant are super classy
Cons: Curio room had a bathroom smaller than a cruise ship's. We had to upgrade to get a full size bathroom.

Pros: Cafe provides an excellent breakfast.
Cons: Room too small - no outside window, no minibar, despite being given a key for one.

Pros: Staff throughout hotel were excellent & friendly; especially concierge & reception staff. Awesome bar! This is a wonderful facility!
Cons: Surprised at number of homeless people around hotel and their blatantness for handouts. I'm sympathetic to their needs but this was a bit of a turnoff for the hotel area. I wonder if security around the hotel has ever been considered.

Pros: The staff was quite helpful, especially Tamara, the concierge. The bar was so Texas and great fun. 1886 Cafe - the food was delicious and a huge breakfast. The Driskill Grill - dinner was also delicious.
Cons: The room was musty smelling with mold growing around the windows. Renovated, but not really as historic as expected. Our "cityview" was of a city construction site. it wasn't a great value for the price.

Pros: A beautiful building. Lobby fantastic. Room beautifully decorated with an excellent bed. One or two minor issues missed during refurb
Cons: There was a loud drumming noise when we got to the room. Reception sent someone to turn off an air handling unit in a cupboard next door. Peace reigned!
