The stay was a nightmare....

Liked: I booked this on booking.com When we arrived I had 2 rooms booked and asked for side by side or adjoining. I was emailed that they did not have adjoining but would note I requested side by side. Check in was great and quick and that’s about where it ended. When I went to my room there was a strong smell of marijuana, the person next to me opened the door and it was obvious where the smell was coming from. The smell was even in our room. My daughter’s room had a plastic bag over the smoke detector and the bathroom floor had not been cleaned. So on my way to take the kids to the pool I stopped at the front desk to ask if I was placed in a smoking section and was informed the hotel was smoke free. I asked her to go up to my room because indeed smoking was a problem. My daughter then came to the pool and told me neither of our keys would open the door. I again went into the lobby and was called over to be told very apologetically that she was going to move our rooms, she wasn’t sure why we were placed there in the first place. She also said she was upgrading us at no charge, noting I never asked for this but thanked her. So we repacked our belongings and were given the new rooms. Now backing up to the pool, pool was advertised as being heated, which it was not and very frigid. The rooms around the pool on the first floor were all being renovated and the jackhammering made so much noise we just decided to go back to the room. The next day breakfast was ok and we were gone by 830 and didn’t return till 1100 pm. The next morning we were awoke to Jack hammering directly under the room we were staying in. We proceeded to check out, and when asked how our stay was told her not very good. The following day before writing a review I called booking.com and explained all that happened. He tried to reach management but was unable to because they were in a meeting but said my upgrade was my compensation.

Disliked: The place could use some TLC. It's feeling a bit neglected and outdated. A renovation would make a big difference.

Liked: Receptionist was good, property was fine
Disliked: Wi-Fi was not working on the first day, it started working when we came back at around 11 pm on 2nd day.Variety of breakfast could have been better.
