About Vedge
The Spotlight on Vedge

Inventive Vegan Dining in the Heart of Philly

Vedge is an elegant, modern vegetarian restaurant located in a charming brownstone on Locust Street in Philadelphia’s Midtown Village neighborhood. Just a short walk from major concert halls and theaters, this award-winning spot is known for its plant-based fine dining that even meat-lovers rave about. With a chic, intimate atmosphere and a menu that’s as creative as it is satisfying, Vedge is a standout choice for food-focused music fans looking to elevate their night out.

Why Concert-goers love it

Vedge’s central location makes it a convenient stop before heading to a show. Guests love the efficient, professional service, which helps get you out the door and to your seat on time. The ambiance is upscale but relaxed, perfect for those who want a quieter, more refined pre-show dinner. And while there’s no set concert menu, the shareable small plates and seasonal cocktails make it easy to dine light or indulge, depending on your evening plans.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a stylish meal before a show
  • Solo travelers wanting a memorable foodie experience
  • Couples planning a romantic concert evening
  • Fans seeking a calm, intimate pre-show environment
  • Budget-conscious music lovers open to splurging on quality plant-based cuisine

What People Say

Reviewers on TripAdvisor and OpenTable consistently call Vedge a “must-visit for vegetarians and vegans,” but even omnivores are wowed by its flavor-packed dishes. The smoked eggplant braciole and rutabaga fondue get rave reviews, as do the rotating seasonal items. Guests love the attentive staff and the restaurant’s thoughtful presentation of every plate. Many say it’s one of the best meals they’ve had in Philly—concert night or not.

Areas for Improvement

Vedge is not a budget option, so those looking for a quick bite may find it a bit pricey. Portions are designed for sharing, which some guests feel makes it less filling if you're in a hurry. And while elegant, it can get booked up quickly, so reservations are highly recommended—especially on big concert nights.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking to pair your evening of live music with elevated, plant-forward cuisine in a stylish setting, Vedge delivers an unforgettable pre-show experience.

l A joy to experience the food, atmosphere, and service in a wonderful room. The wine was a perfect fit. Enjoyed along with a nice short walk from the Kimmel Center and the Philadelphia Orchestra.

l What an over-priced, mediocre place! Very attentive service but the food quality doesn't come close to justifying the crazy-expensive pricing.

l So for those blended families that have carnivores, vegans, and vegetarians, this is your place! (full disclosure, no they do not serve meat). But I'll be honest what the 2 carnivores said and it...
