About Turkish Cuisine
The Spotlight on Turkish Cuisine

Bold Turkish Flavors in the Heart of Hell’s Kitchen

Turkish Cuisine is a casual, welcoming gem located on 9th Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen, just a short walk from Times Square and some of New York City’s biggest concert venues. With its cozy indoor seating and seasonal sidewalk dining, this no-frills spot serves up traditional Turkish favorites in a relaxed and unpretentious setting. Expect a menu filled with flavorful mezes, sizzling kebabs, and rich, comforting entrees that bring the taste of Istanbul to Manhattan.

Why Concert-goers love it

Concert-goers love Turkish Cuisine for its quick service, generous portions, and convenient location within walking distance of popular theaters and music venues. The casual vibe makes it easy to drop in before a big show, with many diners noting how fast they were in and out without feeling rushed. It's also great for a bite after the encore — the kitchen stays open late enough to satisfy post-show cravings.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to share plates and try a bit of everything
  • Solo travelers wanting a flavorful, fuss-free meal before the music starts
  • Couples on a romantic city weekend who want something memorable but low-key
  • Fans who want a lively, vibrant pre-show atmosphere
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want to eat well

What People Say

Reviews consistently praise the authenticity of the dishes, particularly the lamb shish kebab, moussaka, and mixed grills. Diners love the warm hospitality and the generous complementary bread and dips to start. The outdoor seating is a hit during warmer months, and several reviewers note that Turkish Cuisine is a “hidden gem” in a tourist-heavy area. Many guests were pleasantly surprised by the value for money given the central location.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the decor is a bit dated and the atmosphere can be quiet during off-peak hours — not a dealbreaker, but something to note if you’re looking for a buzzy, high-energy spot. There can also be occasional waits for tables during dinner rush, so arriving a bit early on concert nights is a smart move.

The Bottom Line

If you're headed to a show nearby and want fast, flavorful Turkish food at a fair price, Turkish Cuisine delivers a satisfying experience just steps from the action.

l Outstanding food in a small unassuming place very close to numerous broadway theaters. The appetizers, vegetarian stuffed eggplant entree, and homemade lemonade were all remarkable.
