Tony's Di Napoli - Upper East SideTony's Di Napoli - Upper East Side, 1081 Third Avenue, New York |
Tony's Di Napoli on the Upper East Side brings the heart of Southern Italian cooking to New York City with a warm, bustling atmosphere and generous family-style portions. Located on Third Avenue near many of Manhattan’s top performance venues, this casual yet vibrant spot is ideal for groups, date nights, or solo travelers fueling up before a show.
Known for its old-school charm and traditional Italian-American fare, Tony's is all about sharing—literally. Most dishes are served family-style, making it an easy choice for anyone looking to gather, connect, and carb-load before a night of music.
With a location just a quick cab or subway ride from some of NYC’s biggest concert halls, Tony’s is a go-to for fans on the move. The atmosphere is energetic but not overwhelming, and the fast, attentive service means you won’t miss your opening act. The family-style menu is perfect for groups looking to share a meal without breaking the bank or spending hours at the table. Plus, the hearty portions are ideal for building stamina for a long night of dancing or singing along.
Reviewers on TripAdvisor and OpenTable rave about the massive portions, calling the food “delicious and authentic” with standout dishes like chicken parmigiana and baked ziti. Guests love the friendly, efficient service and the warm, inviting vibe that makes it feel like Sunday dinner at Nonna’s. Many say it’s their go-to pre-Broadway or pre-concert dinner spot thanks to its dependable quality and group-friendly setup.
Tony’s can get busy, especially on weekends, so be prepared for a bit of a wait if you don’t have a reservation. The noise level can rise with the crowds, which adds to the energy but might not suit those looking for quiet conversation. Also, family-style dining might not be ideal for picky eaters or those wanting individual plates.
For concert-goers craving classic Italian fare in a lively, convenient setting, Tony’s Di Napoli hits all the right notes.

My wife and I, along with our daughter, visited Tony's when we stayed in NYC for a few days in May. The portions are large, typically meant to be for sharing. We had two pasta dishes and two vegetable sides, and the food was absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere was great, and we all agreed it was our best meal in New York.
Liked: Portion sizes, tasty food.
