The Spotlight on The Palm West Side

Old-School Steakhouse Energy in the Heart of Midtown Manhattan

Located just off Broadway in the vibrant Theatre District, The Palm West Side delivers a classic New York steakhouse experience with a touch of old-school charm. Known for its prime aged beef, jumbo Nova Scotia lobsters, and rich Italian-American classics, this spacious and lively restaurant makes a perfect pit stop before a big show.

With its caricature-covered walls and bustling vibe, The Palm West Side combines a touch of showbiz history with a menu built for indulgence. It's just steps from major concert halls and Broadway theaters, making it a go-to for performers and fans alike.

Why Concert-goers love it

Thanks to its prime location just blocks from iconic music venues, The Palm is a favorite for pre-show dinners and post-show bites. The staff is known for keeping service moving smoothly—even during peak hours—so you won’t have to worry about missing your curtain call. The buzzing atmosphere adds to the excitement of the night, and the generous portions mean you’ll head into the show fully satisfied.

  • Groups of friends looking to share steaks and laughs
  • Solo travelers catching a must-see act

What People Say

Diners rave about the excellent service, even on busy nights, and consistently praise the perfectly cooked steaks and fresh seafood. Many mention the fun, lively ambiance—especially near showtime—and the staff’s ability to accommodate pre-theatre diners efficiently. Regulars love the timeless feel, calling it a “New York institution.”

Areas for Improvement

Prices are on the higher end, so it may not be ideal if you're trying to keep costs down. Some guests mention that the noise level can be quite high during peak times—great for energy, but not for quiet conversation. A few reviews suggest the décor feels a bit dated if you're after something ultra-modern.

The Bottom Line

The Palm West Side is a top pick for concert-goers looking for a classic New York steakhouse experience—close to the action and full of flavor.

With so many restaurants in NYC, I would definitely search out another place to eat next time visiting the city. :(

Liked: The guy with the water was constantly at our table.
Disliked: I asked that my chicken on my salad be well done and it was not. I asked for my salad to be tossed in ranch dressing and it was not. It was tossed in a vinegar dressing which was not appetizing to me. We had to wait 10 minutes for our donut holes and they came out WELL DONE! Not good at all. We were on our way to a matinee and didn't have time to make a fuss.
