With its exposed brick, warm wood tones, and cozy bar, The Nickel feels both upscale and inviting — ideal for a pre-show bite or a celebratory dinner.

Why Concert-goers love it

The Nickel’s location is a huge plus — it’s within walking distance of major music venues, making it a top pick for concert-goers. Service is known to be efficient and friendly, so you won’t be stressed about making it to your show on time. The menu offers satisfying dishes that don’t weigh you down, and the atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between lively and laid-back — great for getting in the concert spirit without shouting over the noise.

What People Say

Guests love the inventive cocktails and the focus on Colorado-sourced ingredients. Reviewers often mention the beautiful ambiance and say it’s a great spot for both casual and special occasions. The charcuterie board and bison burger earn high praise, and many note that the staff is attentive without being overbearing. The bar area is especially popular for pre-show drinks.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that prices can be a bit on the higher side, especially for drinks, and that the dinner rush may lead to slight waits if you don’t have a reservation. A few diners have noted that the lighting can feel a bit dim for those wanting a brighter dining experience.

The Bottom Line

The Nickel is an ideal pre-concert dining destination for those craving bold flavors, cool vibes, and a short walk to the show.

I had dined at the Hotel Teatro several years ago and this was my first time back. We were there for brunch so the menu was limited but our three meals were entirely satisfying. Our waitress was attentive and the meal was well paced. I would certainly return when I am attending a DCPA event.
