Set in a beautifully restored 1853 firehouse in Old Sacramento, The Firehouse Restaurant blends rich history with a refined Contemporary American menu. Located just a short walk from Sacramento’s major concert halls and performance venues, this upscale spot offers a cozy yet elegant backdrop for pre-show dinners or post-concert celebrations. Known for its award-winning wine list and romantic courtyard dining, it’s a go-to for locals and travelers alike looking for a memorable meal in a landmark setting.
Its close proximity to downtown venues makes The Firehouse an ideal pre-show stop. The restaurant's attentive service and well-paced courses mean you can enjoy a full meal without worrying about missing the opening act. The ambiance is refined but relaxed, making it easy to transition from dinner to showtime. If you're catching a weekend concert, the spacious courtyard and historic interiors offer a unique way to start your evening.
Guests rave about the top-tier service, noting that staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient—perfect for those on a concert schedule. The menu receives consistent praise for its seasonal ingredients and elevated takes on American classics, like filet mignon, duck breast, and artisan pastas. Many reviewers highlight the extensive wine list and beautiful patio as must-experience features, especially before an evening show.
Some diners mention that prices lean toward the higher end, so it's best for concert-goers looking to splurge a little. The elegant atmosphere may not suit those seeking a fast-casual bite or ultra-modern vibe. Reservations are recommended, especially on event nights, to avoid long waits.
For concert-goers looking to pair a night of music with a sophisticated meal in a historic setting, The Firehouse Restaurant delivers timeless charm and top-notch cuisine just steps from Sacramento’s entertainment scene.

I would NEVER recommend this restaurant. With so many other places in the area to patronize, why waste money by going to a place like this - EXTREMELY poor. So bad, the Maitre'd followed us to the cab to see how and what could have been better. Uh, let's start by NEVER returning and advising people of our horrible experience!
Liked: Nothing but the FREE (?) water!
Disliked: Wait staff was horrible. The food was inedible and the poorest I have had at a restaurant in years!
The Firehouse Restaurant is #7 of 2337 things to do in Sacramento
