The Fig Tree Restaurant - Charlotte, NCThe Fig Tree Restaurant - Charlotte, NC, 1601 East 7th Street, Charlotte |
Located in a beautifully restored 1913 Craftsman bungalow in Charlotte’s Elizabeth neighborhood, The Fig Tree Restaurant offers an upscale yet relaxed dining experience just minutes from the city's most popular music venues. Known for its refined Continental cuisine and romantic atmosphere, this fine-dining spot blends historic charm with modern sophistication. With a focus on seasonal ingredients, an award-winning wine list, and top-tier service, it’s the ideal place to elevate your night out — especially if it starts with a concert.
The Fig Tree is less than 10 minutes from many of Charlotte’s major concert halls, making it a convenient stop for a pre-show meal. Guests rave about the efficient service that doesn’t sacrifice quality, perfect for those working within a show schedule. The ambiance is quiet and upscale, ideal for conversation before the noise of the concert kicks in. Plus, valet parking makes getting in and out quick and easy, a bonus for anyone rushing to a performance.
Diners consistently praise the intimate atmosphere, noting that the dining rooms feel cozy yet elegant. The pork chops and elk chops are standout favorites, and the tasting menus come highly recommended for a splurge-worthy evening. Reviewers on OpenTable and TripAdvisor describe the staff as attentive and knowledgeable, often going above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. The wine list also gets high marks for both variety and value.
While the experience is top-tier, some guests note that the prices are on the higher side — something to keep in mind if you're dining on a tighter concert-night budget. Also, the dress code is business casual, so you might want to change out of your band tee before dinner.
For concert-goers looking to kick off their evening with elegant dining, exceptional service, and a touch of romance, The Fig Tree is one of Charlotte’s best bets.

The evening was delightful and memorable. This was our Birthday weekend and we couldn't have asked for a more delightful evening with great food, wonderful service and remarkable wine list. The staff was quite attentive and guided us through the experience from beginning to end.
Liked: We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and were cordially provided seats at the bar. Before we could finish our wine the waiter came to escort us to the table. They brought us a little appetizer. The waiter explained the menu and told us about the chef special for the night. It was a pan seared Tuna steak. We also ordered the special appetizer, clams in a wonderful saffron and cream sauce. The main dish was spectacular as well as the wine we ordered from the Bar. The tuna was paired with asparagus on a bed of Orzo. Since we were celebrating our Birthday weekend, they brought us little Carrot cakes with chocolate truffles and wrote Happy Birthday in Chocolate Sause on the plates. All and all it was a delightful meal and a wonderful memorable evening with wonderful and very attentive wait staff.
Disliked: Everything was delightful.
