About The Coach House
The Spotlight on The Coach House

Classic British Pub Charm in the Heart of London

Nestled on Oxendon Street just off bustling Leicester Square, The Coach House is a traditional British pub offering hearty fare, a great selection of beers, and a lively yet easygoing vibe. With its wood-paneled interiors and welcoming staff, it’s a go-to stop for both locals and visitors looking for a casual dining experience before or after catching a show nearby.

The menu features classic pub favorites—think fish and chips, pies, and Sunday roasts—alongside a solid range of ales, lagers, and wines. It’s a no-fuss spot that delivers on comfort food and cozy atmosphere, all within walking distance of London’s top entertainment venues.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and The Coach House delivers. It's just a short stroll from major West End theatres and live music venues, making it a convenient stop for a pre-show pint or post-gig unwind. The vibe is lively without being overwhelming, and service is efficient and friendly, ideal for those on a tight schedule. There’s no formal dress code, so it’s easy to swing by straight from sightseeing or hotel check-in.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a relaxed meal before the show

What People Say

Reviewers love the great location, noting its proximity to the West End and public transport. Many mention the friendly staff and describe the food as comforting and satisfying, especially the fish and chips and Sunday roast. The pub’s historic charm and traditional décor also earn praise, making it a memorable part of a London night out.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that it can get busy before showtime, so seating isn’t always guaranteed without a booking. The menu is solid but sticks to traditional pub fare—those seeking gourmet or modern cuisine might find it a bit limited. Still, most visitors agree it delivers exactly what a classic pub should.

The Bottom Line

For a cozy, convenient, and classic London pub experience just steps from the city’s best live entertainment, The Coach House hits all the right notes.

l Went for a drink before and after theatre across the road. Very enjoyable with good staff and plenty of room . Considering this is about as central as you can get the prices were what I was expecting.
