About The Auld Hundred
The Spotlight on The Auld Hundred

Traditional Scottish Charm Just Steps from the Music

Located in the heart of Edinburgh on bustling Rose Street, The Auld Hundred is a classic Scottish pub offering hearty fare, local ales, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Just a short walk from many of the city’s top concert venues, this historic spot blends rustic charm with a central location, making it a favorite with both locals and visitors looking for an authentic taste of Scotland.

Why Concert-goers love it

Proximity is key—The Auld Hundred is right in the middle of Edinburgh’s city centre, making it an easy stop before or after a show. The friendly atmosphere and prompt service mean you can enjoy a proper meal or pint without worrying about missing the opening act. The pub’s lively but not overwhelming noise level is great for gearing up for a night of music without feeling rushed or cramped.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a laid-back pre-show hangout
  • Solo travelers enjoying a gig and craving local flavor
  • Couples wanting a cosy, traditional setting before a romantic concert night
  • Fans after a lively, atmospheric space to get pumped for the show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want quality food and drink

What People Say

Reviewers love the warm, old-school pub feel, calling it “a gem on Rose Street” with “authentic Scottish charm.” The steak pie and haggis earn consistent praise, as does the reasonably priced drinks menu. Many mention the friendly staff and quick turnaround—ideal when you're watching the clock before a performance. The pub’s location is also a highlight, often described as “perfect for a pre-concert meal.”

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that the pub can get quite busy during peak times, especially weekends. Seating is somewhat limited, so arriving early is a smart move. While the menu is solid, it leans traditional—those seeking gourmet or adventurous options might find it a bit basic.

The Bottom Line

The Auld Hundred is a top pick for concert-goers seeking a cosy, authentic Scottish pub experience just minutes from the action.

l First time there ...Luxi and Sabrina were our fabulous servers. Here on a cruise and met up with family and next in Scotland again, we'd definitely go back. The food was great!
