The Spotlight on Taberna de Haro

Spanish Tapas and Fine Wine Just Minutes from the Stage

Taberna de Haro is a warm, intimate Spanish restaurant located on Beacon Street in Brookline, just a short ride from Boston’s major concert venues. Known for its authentic tapas, extensive Spanish wine list, and charming Iberian ambiance, it offers a true taste of Spain in a cozy, casual setting. Whether you're looking to grab a quick bite before a show or linger over sangria and small plates, this spot delivers a flavorful experience.

Why Concert-goers love it

With its quick service and shareable small plates, Taberna de Haro is ideal for pre-show dining. The relaxed atmosphere makes it a great place to unwind before heading to a bustling venue, and its location near public transit means you won’t miss a beat. The wine bar next door, Straight Law Bar, adds an extra option for those looking for a pre-concert drink in a lively but not too loud setting.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to share a variety of dishes and wine
  • Solo travelers craving a cozy bar and authentic food
  • Couples enjoying a romantic night out with a European twist

What People Say

Guests consistently praise the authenticity of the Spanish cuisine, comparing it favorably to meals they've had in Spain. The wine list—with over 300 selections—is a standout, with staff known for helpful recommendations. Diners also love the vibrant yet intimate vibe, and the friendly, knowledgeable service that makes even first-timers feel like regulars.

Areas for Improvement

Some reviewers mention that the restaurant can get a bit tight when it’s busy, and parking in the area can be a challenge. While the food is high quality, those seeking large portions may find tapas-style dining a bit light if not prepared for it.

l Bland food, fatty lamb, minuscule tapas, bad drinks: This is no Spanish food. Thy are taking as gringos, as fools. And super expensive. I will never return.
