Sonoritas - DTLA is a modern, casual Mexican spot located in the energetic core of downtown Los Angeles, just a short walk from major music venues. With a menu that celebrates bold, authentic Mexican flavors and a laid-back vibe, it’s a favorite for locals and out-of-towners alike looking to fuel up before a big night out.
The restaurant is known for its vibrant atmosphere, house-made tortillas, and high-quality meats—especially its signature carne asada. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite at the counter or settling in with friends for margaritas and tacos, Sonoritas delivers fast and flavorful fare that hits the spot.
Location is key—Sonoritas is just steps from downtown LA’s most iconic venues, making it a go-to for pre-show dining. It’s also praised for its quick, efficient service, so you can enjoy a satisfying meal without worrying about missing the opening act. The upbeat vibe and colorful décor add to the pre-show excitement, and the portions are generous enough to keep you going all night.
Diners rave about the fresh, flavorful ingredients and standout dishes like the carne asada burrito and al pastor tacos. Many mention the friendly staff and clean, modern space. The margaritas and aguas frescas also get high marks, as does the fact that it’s fast enough for a tight concert schedule.
Some reviewers mention limited seating during peak hours, especially on show nights. While the music adds to the energy, those looking for a quiet dinner might find it a bit loud. Prices are reasonable for DTLA, but not the cheapest tacos in town.
Sonoritas DTLA is a deliciously convenient choice for concert-goers who want bold flavors, fast service, and a festive vibe just minutes from the music.

Drinks were good; food was OK; service was horrible. The excuse they gave us for a horrible service was that they had people called in sick, to go to the concert. If people called in sick, why didn't they close off sections of the restaurant to limit customers. Worst part about the whole thing, since there were six of us, gratuity was mandatory. That’a BS. Bad service. You couldn’t even get drunk because it took so long to get drinks. Overall, not really sure if this is a good place to visit since it was so difficult to get any thing quick enough. By the time we got what we received, I didn't remember what we ordered. It was pretty bad.
Liked: Jalapeño Margarita.
Disliked: Service
