Just steps from Chicago's bustling Theater District, Petterino's offers a warm, retro-inspired atmosphere perfect for a night out. With its deep red leather booths, vintage caricature-lined walls, and classic Italian-American menu, this spot channels the glamor of a mid-century supper club. Located on North Dearborn Street, it's a go-to for both theatergoers and concert fans catching a show nearby.
Petterino's is practically tailor-made for show nights. It's just a short walk from many major concert venues, making it an ideal pre-show stop. The kitchen keeps things moving with efficient service, even during the busy dinner rush. The pre-event prix fixe menu is a hit with time-conscious guests, and the energetic yet not-too-noisy dining room sets the perfect tone for an exciting night ahead.
Guests consistently mention the convenient location, just steps from theaters and music venues. Reviews praise the warm, attentive staff, and the menu earns high marks for its comforting Italian classics like chicken parmigiana, lasagna, and house-made pastas. Many diners love the old-timey ambiance that adds a touch of class to any night out.
While many enjoy the throwback decor, some find it a bit dated. During peak show hours, tables can feel a little close together. And while there isn’t a formal dress code, a few diners suggest dressing smart-casual to match the setting.
Petterino's is a charming, dependable pick for concert-goers who want good food, fast service, and a touch of vintage Chicago flair before the show.

Good food, good wine and great wait staff!
Liked: Very good service, excellent wine list and a nice menu.
Disliked: We were early and it would have been good to get off the street if only to stand in the lobby.
