The Spotlight on McCabe's Irish Pub & Grill - London

Hearty Irish Fare Just Steps from the Action

McCabe's Irish Pub & Grill is a lively, laid-back pub-style restaurant located in the heart of downtown London, Ontario. Just a short walk from several major music venues, this spot is a go-to for visitors looking to enjoy classic Irish comfort food, a great selection of beers, and a friendly, upbeat atmosphere before or after a show.

With its rustic wood interiors, cozy booths, and two levels of seating (including a rooftop patio in warmer months), McCabe’s blends traditional pub charm with the bustling energy of downtown nightlife. It’s casual, welcoming, and always buzzing on event nights.

Why Concert-goers love it

Concert-goers love McCabe’s for its prime location—just minutes from downtown venues. The service is known to be fast and efficient, which means you can grab a meal and a pint without worrying about missing the opening act. The lively atmosphere makes it a great place to get into the concert spirit, and the food portions are generous enough to fuel you through the night.

Who this Restaurant is great for

What People Say

Guests on TripAdvisor and OpenTable rave about the authentic pub atmosphere, extensive tap list, and crowd-pleasing menu featuring favorites like fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, and loaded burgers. Many mention the friendly and prompt service, even on busy event nights. The rooftop patio is a frequent highlight in warmer months, offering a great place to unwind before heading to a show.

Areas for Improvement

Some diners note that it can get loud and crowded on weekends or concert nights—great for energy, but not ideal if you're after a quiet meal. Others have mentioned that while food is solid, it leans more toward classic pub fare than gourmet dining.

l Slow service, rude manager, and they use all synthetic cocktail premixes that don't taste pleasant at all. One shouldn't even try.
