The Spotlight on Loudons New Waverley

Stylish All-Day Brunch Just Minutes from Music in the Capital

Loudons New Waverley is a bright, modern café tucked into the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town, just a short walk from many of the city's most iconic music venues. Known for its stylish, open-plan interior, friendly vibe, and commitment to locally-sourced ingredients, this casual eatery is a go-to for anyone craving a hearty breakfast, brunch, or lunch before catching a show.

The menu leans into modern café fare with a twist — think gourmet eggs benedict, fluffy pancakes, and creative vegan options, all beautifully presented. It’s a relaxed, welcoming space that blends the best of Scottish charm with contemporary style.

Why Concert-goers love it

Its central location makes Loudons a smart pick for concert-goers looking for a convenient meal before a nearby gig. Service is known to be efficient and friendly, so you can fuel up without worrying about missing the opening act. The atmosphere is laid-back but buzzing, and the large indoor space offers plenty of seating even during busy times. Plus, with their flexible all-day brunch menu, you can grab a bite whether it’s a morning matinee or an evening headliner.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to meet up before a show in the city

What People Say

Diners rave about the fresh, flavorful ingredients and generous portions. The pancakes and eggs benedict are especially popular, and many highlight the excellent vegan and gluten-free options. Reviewers also appreciate the bright, spacious interior and the consistently attentive service, even during peak hours. The coffee also gets high marks — a bonus for early show-goers or post-concert brunchers.

Areas for Improvement

Some patrons note that it can get busy during weekends, so there might be a short wait at peak times. While the menu is well-curated, a few diners found it a bit pricey for a brunch café — though most agree the quality justifies it.

The Bottom Line

If you’re heading to a show and want great food, quick service, and a stylish setting, Loudons New Waverley hits all the right notes.

l Good quality food and service in a modern and spacious environment. Cafe brunch style food but higher quality than your average cafe.
