About Koba
The Spotlight on Koba

Smoky, Stylish Korean BBQ in the Heart of Fitzrovia

Just a short walk from London’s buzzing West End and top music venues, Koba brings a modern twist to traditional Korean BBQ. Tucked away on Rathbone Street, this sleek, minimalist restaurant offers table-grilled meats, bold flavors, and a welcoming vibe that’s both upscale and approachable. With its warm lighting and attentive service, it’s a smart-casual spot that draws both locals and visiting foodies.

Why Concert-goers love it

Quick service and flavor-packed dishes make Koba ideal for pre-show dining. Located within walking distance of major music venues and theaters, it’s easy to squeeze in a sizzling BBQ meal before the lights go down. The lively but not-too-loud atmosphere means you can get hyped for the night without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Many fans also appreciate the option of sharing plates—perfect for groups heading to a gig together.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends sharing platters of Korean BBQ before a show
  • Solo travelers grabbing a flavorful meal at the counter
  • Couples on a romantic night out before a concert
  • Fans wanting a buzzy, energetic place to start the evening
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want a quality experience

What People Say

Reviews on TripAdvisor and OpenTable praise Koba’s top-tier BBQ meats, especially the galbi (marinated short ribs) and bulgogi. Diners love the interactive grilling experience and note that the staff are helpful in explaining the menu. Many mention that the ambience is cozy but refined, making it a great place to kick off a night out. The kimchi pancakes and banchan sides also get rave reviews.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the smoky aroma from the grills can linger—so maybe don't wear your concert outfit to dinner. A few note that it can get busy at peak times, so booking ahead is a smart move. Prices are mid-range, but the quality generally justifies it.

The Bottom Line

Koba is a flavorful, fun, and conveniently located Korean BBQ spot that’s perfect for concert-goers looking to fuel up in style before the show.
