About Jazz After Dark
The Spotlight on Jazz After Dark

Live Jazz, Cozy Vibes & Continental Flavours in Soho

Nestled in the heart of Soho, Jazz After Dark is a stylish, intimate restaurant and cocktail bar offering a unique blend of live jazz music and Continental cuisine. Just a short walk from some of London’s most iconic music venues, it’s a go-to spot for music lovers looking to fuel up before a show or unwind afterward. With its moody lighting, eclectic artwork, and famously musical atmosphere (Amy Winehouse was a regular), this hidden gem offers a slice of old-school Soho charm with a modern twist.

Why Concert-goers love it

Whether you're catching a gig at nearby venues or just want to soak up the pre-show buzz, Jazz After Dark delivers. The live jazz performances start early enough to enjoy before heading out, and the service is known to be efficient and friendly—ideal for those on a schedule. The intimate setting keeps the volume perfect for conversation, while the music adds an unmistakable energy. Plus, it’s just minutes from central concert locations, making it super convenient for a night out.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a fun, music-filled dinner spot
  • Solo travelers hoping to discover a true Soho experience
  • Couples on a romantic music weekend
  • Fans wanting a cool, jazzy pre-show hangout
  • Budget-conscious music fans who still want atmosphere and quality

What People Say

Guests rave about the live music atmosphere, calling it “intimate and soulful” and praising the talented performers. Many mention the friendly staff and owner, who often chat with diners and help create a relaxed, welcoming vibe. The cocktails and Continental dishes get consistent praise, with standouts including mezze platters and pasta dishes. It’s often described as a hidden gem in Soho—perfect for those looking to escape crowded tourist spots.

Areas for Improvement

The space is on the smaller side, which adds to its charm but can feel a bit tight during busy hours. Some diners have noted that the decor feels a bit quirky and retro—which fans love, but may not be for everyone. If you’re hoping for a quiet meal without music, this may not be the spot.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers seeking a cozy, music-filled pre-show dinner in the heart of Soho, Jazz After Dark hits all the right notes.

l Very very hot sweaty room due to no aircon. Great live music really enjoyed. The furnishing needs some love as it’s very used. Lots of Amy Winehouse pictures and paintings.
