Location, location, location—Jack Astor’s is just steps from major downtown venues, making it an easy pre-show meet-up spot. The service is quick and accommodating, so you’ll never have to worry about making it to your seat on time. The rooftop patio is also a huge perk in summer, offering great views and a festive atmosphere. Noise levels are lively but manageable, keeping the energy up without drowning out conversations.
Reviews on TripAdvisor and OpenTable praise the friendly service, large portions, and fun vibe. Many guests mention it’s a perfect spot for a pre-show meal, with a menu that has “something for everyone.” The rooftop patio is frequently highlighted as a must-visit in good weather. Diners also appreciate the central location and efficient staff who are attentive even during busy times.
Some guests note that it can get a bit noisy and crowded during peak hours, especially on concert nights. Wait times may be slightly longer unless you book ahead, and while the food is solid and satisfying, it’s more about comfort than culinary innovation.
For concert-goers looking for fun, fast, and filling food steps from downtown venues, Jack Astor’s Yonge & Dundas hits the right note.

Although our food was tasty, the drinks selection was terrible. The restaurant was out of most of their white and red wines, as well as their speciality drinks. Since our reservation was for 5 p.m., we were surprised that a restaurant would be out of most drinks by that early evening hour. And although our server was very friendly and apologetic, the service was quite slow. Overall, it was not a positive experience.
Liked: The food was tasty.
Disliked: Extremely poor selection of drinks available. The restaurant was out of most of their white and red wines, as well as some of the speciality drinks.
