About Hyde Street Seafood House & Raw Bar
The Spotlight on Hyde Street Seafood House & Raw Bar

Classic Seafood Charm Just Steps from the Music

Hyde Street Seafood House & Raw Bar is a cozy, old-school seafood restaurant located in San Francisco’s historic Nob Hill neighborhood. With a classic nautical feel, white tablecloths, and a menu that leans into fresh oysters and traditional seafood dishes, it's a go-to spot for those craving a taste of the ocean before a night out. Just a short walk or ride from several major concert venues, this spot is a hidden gem for pre-show dining.

Why Concert-goers love it

Its close proximity to popular music venues makes it easy to squeeze in a relaxed meal without rushing. Guests rave about the efficient service, which means you won’t miss your opening act. The vibe is quiet and intimate, perfect for gathering your thoughts before the energy of a show. And for seafood lovers, the raw bar is a standout pre-show indulgence.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to share a seafood platter before the show
  • Solo travelers who want a quiet, high-quality meal at the bar
  • Couples making a romantic night of it with champagne and oysters
  • Fans wanting a mellow, classy start to a lively concert night
  • Budget-conscious music fans who appreciate generous portions and great happy hour deals

What People Say

Diners on TripAdvisor and OpenTable highlight the freshness of the seafood, especially the oysters and Dungeness crab. Many mention the friendly, attentive staff and the classic San Francisco charm of the interior. The clam chowder and cioppino also get special shoutouts. Reviewers love that it’s a relaxing spot to dine without the buzz of tourist-heavy areas.

Areas for Improvement

The decor is more “vintage classic” than modern chic, which might not appeal to trend-seekers. It’s a smaller space, so reservations are recommended—especially on concert nights. Some reviewers noted the pace can slow down during peak hours, so allow a little buffer before your show.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for classic seafood, calm vibes, and quick access to San Francisco’s music scene, Hyde Street Seafood House is a timeless pick.

l The restaurant was empty. There was only 2 two tops including us at prime time. Freezing cold, elevator music. Clearly not renovated in 30 years.
