About House of Creole Cleveland
The Spotlight on House of Creole Cleveland

Spice Up Your Night with Cajun Flavor in Downtown Cleveland

House of Creole Cleveland is a lively, modern Cajun restaurant located right on Euclid Avenue in the heart of downtown Cleveland. With bold Southern flavors, a stylish interior, and a great cocktail program, it’s an ideal stop for music fans heading to a show. The vibe is upbeat but relaxed, with exposed brick walls, moody lighting, and live jazz or R&B playing on select nights—offering a true taste of NOLA in the Midwest.

Why Concert-goers love it

Located just blocks from some of Cleveland’s biggest concert venues, House of Creole is perfect for a quick bite or a full dinner before the show. Many diners mention the efficient service, which helps you get in and out without stress. The restaurant’s energy makes it a great warm-up to a night out—lively but not overwhelming, so you can still have a conversation before the music starts. It’s also open late on weekends, making it a great option for a post-show meal or nightcap.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to share small plates and cocktails
  • Solo travelers wanting a welcoming bar vibe with satisfying food
  • Couples enjoying a date night before the concert
  • Fans who enjoy a fun, high-energy environment
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want quality and flavor

What People Say

Diners rave about the shrimp and grits, lobster mac & cheese, and the house-made cocktails, especially the bourbon-based creations. Reviews frequently mention the friendly staff and the vibe that feels “just like New Orleans.” Many appreciate that the portion sizes are generous and the atmosphere helps set the tone for a great night out.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that it can get a bit loud during peak times, especially when live music is playing—great for energy, but less ideal if you're hoping for a quiet conversation. A few reviewers mentioned occasional wait times when arriving without a reservation on busy nights, so plan ahead if you're on a schedule.

The Bottom Line

If you're heading to a concert downtown and want big flavors, a fun vibe, and reliable service, House of Creole delivers a taste of the South with Cleveland soul.

I would have loved to give this review a 5, but the hostess (your first point of contact at the restaurant) was extremely rude. I had reservations and she told me to go look for my group, instead of taking me to the reserved table. On the more positive side, the food was amazing and our waitress was attentive and polite.

Liked: The food!
Disliked: The hostess.

l The first time dinning here and certainly won't be our last. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Dissapointed that we hadn't found this place earlier.

l This is a great place for a happy hour dinner (4-6:30 daily). The spiced deviled eggs with Cajun grilled shrimp are served on an unremarkable bed of spring greens. The eggs (4 halves) are lightly...
