About Flame NYC - No Hibachi (Regular Tables Only)
The Spotlight on Flame NYC - No Hibachi (Regular Tables Only)

Flavorful Asian Fare Just Blocks from the Music

Flame NYC - No Hibachi (Regular Tables Only) is a sleek, modern Asian restaurant located on the Upper West Side. Just a short walk from major concert venues and Central Park, this spot blends a stylish ambiance with a focus on fresh sushi, classic Asian dishes, and attentive service—all without the tableside hibachi theatrics. It’s perfect for diners who want the vibrant flavors of Japanese and Asian fusion cuisine in a more relaxed, non-hibachi setting.

Why Concert-goers love it

With its prime location near the subway and key music venues, Flame NYC is a convenient stop for a pre-show bite. The vibe is upbeat yet not too loud, making it easy to relax or chat before heading to a performance. Quick and efficient service means you can enjoy your meal without stressing about showtime. Plus, the extensive menu caters to both adventurous eaters and fans of sushi staples.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends—plenty of shareable sushi rolls and appetizers
  • Solo travelers—a welcoming bar and cozy table options
  • Couples—dim lighting and sleek decor create a date-night feel
  • Fans wanting a lively pre-show space—buzzy, energetic atmosphere

What People Say

Reviewers on TripAdvisor and OpenTable praise the freshness of the sushi, the speed of service, and the friendly staff. Many highlight it as their go-to spot before events at Lincoln Center or Beacon Theatre. The lunch and dinner specials are frequently mentioned as great value, and the ambiance strikes a balance between casual and chic.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that while the food is solid, it’s not the most inventive Asian cuisine in the city. Others suggest that seating can be tight during peak hours. For those expecting hibachi, make sure you’re in the right section—this location is regular tables only, with no hibachi service.

The Bottom Line

Flame NYC is a solid choice for concert-goers seeking fast, flavorful Asian cuisine in a stylish Upper West Side setting just minutes from the music.
