About Dublin Calling - Vancouver
The Spotlight on Dublin Calling - Vancouver

Pub Grub, Pints & Pre-Show Energy on Granville

Dublin Calling is a high-energy pub located right on Granville Street in downtown Vancouver, just steps from some of the city’s top concert venues. With its sports-bar-meets-Irish-pub vibe, this spot is known for hearty pub classics, an impressive selection of draft beers, and plenty of TVs for game-day energy. Upstairs from Donnellan’s Irish Pub, Dublin Calling mixes casual dining with a party atmosphere, making it a go-to for pre-concert fun or post-show drinks.

Why Concert-goers love it

Its central location makes it a convenient stop before heading to major music venues nearby. Dublin Calling offers a lively but not overwhelming atmosphere, making conversation easy even on busy nights. The menu is quick and familiar—think burgers, wings, and nachos—perfect for filling up before a big show. Service is speedy and friendly, so you can grab a bite and a pint without worrying about missing the opening act.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for upbeat vibes and sharable plates
  • Solo travelers who want a welcoming atmosphere and bar seating
  • Couples making a fun night of it with drink specials and casual eats
  • Fans who want to get hyped before the show with music and crowd energy
  • Budget-conscious concert-goers who still want a full meal and a drink

What People Say

Reviewers highlight the fun, social vibe and consistently mention the friendly staff and quick service. Many note it’s a great place to meet up before a concert, offering solid food and drinks at reasonable prices. The games like pool and darts add a fun twist, and late-night hours mean it's also a great post-show hangout.

Areas for Improvement

This isn’t the place for a quiet, candlelit dinner—expect music, crowds, and sports on the TVs. On weekend nights, it can get a bit busy, so grabbing a table might take a few minutes. The food is more about comfort than culinary innovation, but that’s part of the charm.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for a lively, convenient spot with classic pub fare and fast service before your concert, Dublin Calling hits the right note.

l We wanted to march with the Whitecap supporters along Robson Street to BC Place. We decided to grab a beer and nachos, too. I liked the variety of dips that came with the nachos. The service was ok.

l OK place. Typical for Vancouver. Crowded before shows at Voguw and Commodore. Just be aware of servers adding tips to your CC tab, They count on customers being drunk and not noticing but I caught...

l Normally this place is buzzing when I walk pass. It was fairly quiet inside the pub on a Saturday afternoon. With fewer customers, I would have expected better service. We were not checked on...
