The Spotlight on Conejo Negro

Latin American Vibes Just Steps from the Stage

Conejo Negro is a cozy, stylish Latin American eatery tucked away on College Street in Toronto’s vibrant west end. Known for its bold, inventive flavors and artful cocktails, the restaurant brings a laid-back yet energetic atmosphere that’s perfect for fueling up before catching a show nearby. With a focus on Latin street food and a menu that offers both familiar favorites and creative surprises, Conejo Negro is a local gem that hits the sweet spot between casual and cool.

Why Concert-goers love it

Located just a short ride or stroll from some of Toronto’s top music venues, Conejo Negro is an ideal pre-show hangout. The atmosphere is lively but not too loud, making it a great place to chat over drinks and apps before heading out. Their quick service and shareable dishes mean you won’t be watching the clock, and their cocktail menu—especially the mezcal-based drinks—is a hit with fans looking to start the night off right. Bonus: they’re open late, so it’s also a fun spot to debrief after the encore.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to share tacos and drinks before a gig
  • Solo travelers who want a welcoming bar and flavorful meal
  • Couples making a romantic night of dinner and music
  • Fans wanting a festive, energetic space to build anticipation
  • Budget-conscious music lovers—prices are reasonable for Toronto

What People Say

Diners rave about the vibrant atmosphere, “super fresh and flavorful food,” and the “awesome cocktail list.” The tacos and ceviche are crowd favorites, and many praise the friendly, attentive staff. Reviews often mention how it’s the “perfect pre-concert stop” thanks to its location and speed. Others love the local art on the walls and the playlist that keeps the energy up.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the space is on the smaller side, so it can fill up quickly on weekends—reservations are a smart move. Occasionally, the music inside might be a bit loud for those looking for quiet conversation. And while many love the creative menu, picky eaters might find fewer “safe” options.

The Bottom Line

Conejo Negro delivers flavorful Latin food, great cocktails, and a fun vibe that’s perfect for concert-goers looking to kick off an unforgettable night in Toronto.

l Enjoyed a wonderful meal with friends on a Saturday night. Especially loved the ceviche, squash dumplings and banana cake. Braised beef is tender and tasty, too. Great vibe and cocktails!
