About Cafe Angelino
The Spotlight on Cafe Angelino

Classic Italian Charm Just Steps from the Action

Cafe Angelino is a cozy, family-run Italian bistro nestled along 3rd Street in Los Angeles, just a short drive from many of the city’s popular concert venues. With white-tablecloth charm and a menu packed with authentic Italian favorites, this spot combines traditional flavors with a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere. From housemade pastas to fresh seafood, it's a quiet gem perfect for winding down or gearing up before a show.

Why Concert-goers love it

Its proximity to major venues like the Hollywood Bowl and The Wiltern makes Cafe Angelino a smart pre-concert pick. The service is efficient and friendly, ideal for those on a tight schedule. The ambiance is relaxing but not sleepy, allowing you to enjoy a quality meal without the rush or noise of downtown hotspots. While there's no set pre-show menu, many guests appreciate the well-paced service and generous portions that don’t leave you feeling rushed or overly full before the music starts.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to share a bottle of wine and plates of pasta
  • Solo travelers wanting a relaxed, no-fuss dinner before a show
  • Couples seeking a romantic, candlelit meal before a big night out
  • Music fans wanting a calm, intimate setting to chat pre-show
  • Budget-conscious diners who still want quality Italian without breaking the bank

What People Say

Reviewers on TripAdvisor and OpenTable consistently praise the authentic Italian cuisine, especially the pasta dishes like the tagliatelle bolognese and seafood risotto. Guests love the attentive staff and the intimate, neighborhood feel. Many diners say it's a great spot to relax before heading out to an event, with easy parking and a quiet atmosphere that feels like a welcome escape from the city's chaos.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the decor is a bit dated, and although charming, it may not impress those looking for a trendy Instagram-worthy setting. The restaurant can also get busy on weekends, so reservations are recommended to avoid a wait.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for a quiet, reliable spot with real Italian flavor before a show in LA, Cafe Angelino delivers comfort and quality just minutes from the music.

l Best Italian food I’ve had in the states. Love this place!!!!! Met the owner because I felt compelled to compliment their food and the journey I went on during the meal that took me back to my time...

l The service was very good but we were disappointed by the food. It was rather bland. It all needed herbs to add some flavour to the dishes. It didn’t seem authentic. Real shame.
