About Buckley's Great Steaks
The Spotlight on Buckley's Great Steaks

Hearty Steaks & Cozy Vibes Just Minutes from Merrimack's Music Scene

Buckley's Great Steaks is a charming, upscale steakhouse nestled in a converted farmhouse in Merrimack, New Hampshire. Just a short drive from southern New Hampshire's concert venues, this restaurant blends rustic New England charm with polished service and a focus on premium quality cuts of beef. With its warm wood interiors, fireplaces, and vintage accents, Buckley's is an inviting spot for an elevated meal before or after a show.

Why Concert-goers love it

Concert-goers appreciate Buckley's for its proximity to event venues like the Bank of NH Pavilion and SNHU Arena, making it an ideal stop on the way to a show. The atmosphere is lively but not too loud, perfect for pre-show conversation. Service is known to be friendly and efficient, so you can enjoy a full meal without feeling rushed. While there's no official pre-show menu, the kitchen is quick and accommodating—ideal for those on a tight timeline.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to kick off the night with a great meal
  • Solo travelers wanting a bar seat and a steak before the show
  • Couples on a weekend getaway or date night
  • Fans who want a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere
  • Budget-conscious diners who still want a high-quality experience (check out the tavern menu for value options)

What People Say

Reviews consistently praise the perfectly cooked steaks, attentive service, and cozy ambiance. Guests love the fireplace-lit dining rooms and say the restaurant feels “special, but not stuffy.” The tavern side offers a more casual experience, with a full bar and slightly lower prices, which many note is a great option before a concert. Desserts and cocktails also earn high marks, rounding out a satisfying night out.

Areas for Improvement

While most guests rave about their experience, a few mention that it can get busy on weekends, so reservations are highly recommended. Parking is available but can fill up fast, especially during peak times. Also, while the dress code is business casual, some visitors felt slightly underdressed in more relaxed attire.

The Bottom Line

Buckley’s Great Steaks delivers a cozy, high-quality dining experience just a short drive from top New Hampshire concert venues—perfect for a memorable pre-show meal.

l It was pretty good. I think you pay more for the experience than the food (waiter pouring your water table-side, reciting 5+ specials with ingredients, historical decor/setting, etc).
