About Blacklock Soho
The Spotlight on Blacklock Soho

Juicy Chops and Laid-Back Vibes in the Heart of Soho

Blacklock Soho is a modern, basement-style steakhouse tucked away on Great Windmill Street. It’s just minutes from London’s biggest music venues, offering a moody, cozy atmosphere with exposed brick walls, candlelight, and a seriously tempting chop-based menu. Known for its value-driven dining and retro cocktail list, this steak spot focuses on quality cuts cooked over charcoal with expert precision.

The vibe is warm, buzzing, and relaxed, making it a go-to for pre-show dinners or post-concert bites. With a casual dress code and great prices for central London, it’s easy to see why meat lovers make a beeline here.

Why Concert-goers love it

Its central Soho location puts you within easy walking distance of many major concert halls and smaller live music venues. The service is fast and friendly, so you can easily grab a filling meal before doors open. The lively basement setting keeps the energy up but stays just quiet enough to chat over cocktails. Plus, the "All In" sharing platter is perfect for groups looking to fuel up without breaking the bank.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends who want to share delicious food and soak in the buzz of Soho
  • Solo travelers catching a must-see gig and craving a quality meal at the bar
  • Couples looking to start their romantic night with sizzling steak and wine
  • Fans wanting a lively pre-show space with great cocktails and music-friendly energy
  • Budget-conscious music fans who want high-quality food without central London prices

What People Say

Blacklock is often described as a hidden gem in Soho. Diners consistently praise the succulent, perfectly cooked meats and the amazing value for money. The "All In" menu is a top favorite, delivering lots of food for a reasonable price. Many reviews highlight the friendly, fast-paced service and how the restaurant feels both trendy and welcoming. The old-school cocktails and Sunday roasts also get rave mentions.

Areas for Improvement

The restaurant doesn’t take walk-ins during peak hours, so booking ahead is a must—especially on concert nights. Because it’s in a basement, there’s no natural light, which some diners find a bit dim. And if you’re not into meat, the menu is limited on vegetarian options.

The Bottom Line

For a pre-show feast with flavor and flair, Blacklock Soho delivers quality chops, a lively vibe, and unbeatable location just steps from London’s concert scene.

When booking, we did not know what to expect. Should not have worried - the food was excellent and the staff were even better, going that extra mile to help. The birthday ice cream complete with candle was a lovely touch and very much appreciated, thanks to you all.

Liked: Steaks and chops were excellent.
