About Black Rabbit
The Spotlight on Black Rabbit

Historic Charm and Modern Bites in the Heart of Downtown Nashville

Black Rabbit is a moody, vintage-inspired American eatery located in a restored 19th-century building on 3rd Avenue North. Just steps from Broadway and major concert halls, this stylish spot blends old-school ambiance with a modern menu of creative small plates, craft cocktails, and hearty mains. With exposed brick, dim lighting, and speakeasy vibes, it's a favorite for both locals and visitors looking for an atmospheric night out.

Why Concert-goers love it

Located just a short walk from several of Nashville’s biggest music venues, Black Rabbit is a convenient and stylish option for a pre-show meal or post-concert drink. The menu of shareable plates means you can eat light before hitting the show, and the quick, friendly service helps keep you on schedule. The lively yet intimate atmosphere makes it easy to get in the concert spirit without dealing with the chaos of Broadway’s busiest bars.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends sharing bites and cocktails before a show
  • Solo travelers enjoying a seat at the bar with excellent people-watching
  • Couples on a romantic weekend getaway
  • Fans looking for a lively but refined pre-show experience
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who want upscale fare at reasonable prices

What People Say

Reviewers praise the “cozy, throwback ambiance” and “exceptional craft cocktails.” The truffle fries and lamb meatballs are recurring favorites, and many highlight the knowledgeable bartenders and helpful servers. Guests love that the menu is perfect for sharing, and the speakeasy-style décor makes it feel like a hidden gem in downtown Nashville.

Areas for Improvement

Some diners mention that the lighting is quite dim, which adds to the mood but can make reading the menu a bit tricky. Others note that the small plate format may not suit those looking for a full, traditional entrée experience. Weekends can get busy, so reservations are a smart move.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for a stylish, conveniently located restaurant with great vibes and quick service before your concert, Black Rabbit delivers on all fronts.

l The worst service ever. Do NOT waste your time and money. This is the first time I ever left a negative review. Go to Sinatra's.

l Best trout I've had in a very long time. Rice was spectacular and potato fingerlings were out of this world. Highly recommend if your in the Nashville area. Parking was a bit of a challenge.
