Angelo’s Wine Bar, a modern Italian-American restaurant, originally opened in 1962 as a casual take out pizzeria. As the neighborhood grew so did Angelo’s. In 2015 the restaurant closed for a massive facelift which included launching a new wine program and new menu concept.
Chef Samuel Leal's menu features fresh, seasonal ingredients procured from around the world. Taking his cues from family, past experiences, and the tastes of the local neighborhood, he reaches beyond our traditional Italian-American concept. Chef constantly delivers surprises that include flavors from Asia, Latin-America, the wider Mediterranean, and even into the heartland of Midwest America.
Leal's menu aligns with the international focus of the restaurant's wine program, curated by House Sommelier, Gigi Bredoux. The extensive bottled wine lists focuses on small production wines from boutique vineyards from around the world. Thirty wines are offered by the glass, including six poured from the barrel.
