The Spotlight on Alhambra

Elegant Mediterranean Dining in the Heart of DC

Alhambra is a sophisticated Mediterranean restaurant located inside the historic The St. Regis Washington, D.C., just a short walk from iconic concert venues and cultural landmarks. With its blend of old-world charm and modern elegance, this upscale yet inviting space offers a refined dining experience with a menu inspired by the coasts of Southern Europe and North Africa. From imported olive oils to fine wines, every detail is crafted for discerning palates.

Why Concert-goers love it

Its central location makes Alhambra a perfect stop before or after a show. Just blocks from theaters and music venues, it’s ideal for a seamless evening out. The serene ambiance and warm lighting provide a calm escape from the downtown buzz, while the attentive service ensures you’re in and out in time for your event. Whether you’re grabbing small plates or enjoying a full dinner, the menu is designed to suit your night’s pace.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to start their night with style
  • Solo travelers wanting a serene pre-show dinner
  • Couples planning a romantic evening before curtain call
  • Fans seeking a more sophisticated pre-concert vibe
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want a touch of class (especially at lunch)

What People Say

Guests rave about the elegant interior and exceptional service, often noting the staff’s helpfulness in accommodating tight show schedules. The lamb chops, seafood dishes, and mezze platters are among the most praised items. Many reviewers highlight the peaceful atmosphere as a welcome contrast to the city's hustle, perfect for conversation before a performance.

Areas for Improvement

Some diners mention that prices can be on the higher side, so it may not be ideal for grabbing a quick bite on a tight budget. A few also note that while the space is beautiful, it’s more suited to relaxed dining than a rushed pre-show meal—so plan accordingly.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers craving a refined, relaxing Mediterranean meal just steps from DC’s music scene, Alhambra hits all the right notes.

l We had a nice brunch. It's a focused menu with some notable options. Enjoyed the kofta scramble and the jamon Serrano Benedict. Pastry basket was ok. Service was a little slow.
