Located on one of Soho’s most iconic streets, 64 Old Compton St offers a warm and inviting Italian dining experience right in the heart of London’s buzzing theatre and music district. The restaurant has a cozy, casual vibe with rustic wooden tables and exposed brick walls that give it a laid-back charm. Just a few minutes’ walk from several of London’s top music venues, 64 Old Compton St is a perfect place to fuel up before the show. The service is known to be efficient and friendly, making it easy to enjoy a full meal without worrying about missing your opening act. The lively atmosphere keeps the energy up, but it’s not too loud to hold a conversation—ideal for pre-show planning or post-show debriefs. Plus, the menu includes a variety of classic Italian comfort dishes that hit the spot whether you're grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a longer meal.
Diners on TripAdvisor and OpenTable praise the authenticity of the Italian menu, especially the pasta and pizza dishes. Many note the relaxed yet lively vibe, perfect for pre-concert dining. The staff are repeatedly described as attentive and welcoming, and the prices are considered reasonable for the central location. Reviewers also love the people-watching opportunities from the outdoor seating area, especially when the Soho streets are buzzing with energy.
Some guests mention that the space can feel a bit tight during peak hours, and walk-in availability may be limited—so it’s smart to book ahead if you're on a schedule. Also, while the menu sticks to the classics, those seeking adventurous or modern twists might find it a bit traditional.
64 Old Compton St is a cozy, reliable Italian eatery in a prime location—perfect for concert-goers looking for great food, fast service, and fun vibes just steps from the action.

It was small and intimate. An excellent venue for lunch before the theatre.

By chance we came across this restaurant as a last minute booking before a show. Within easy walking distance from most theaters, this quaint Italian restaurant is an absolute diamond find. The service was very welcoming. Seated by the bar soon it became a hive of activity, very popular they had to turn a number of people away. Menu was comprehensive with all the traditional favourites. I had wild mushrooms to begin, followed by Tiger Prawn Linguine. I wasn't disappointed - the prawns were of the King size, the pasta was nicely cooked with a hint of chilli which gave it a tasty kick. My dining partner had Bruschetta and Lobster Linguine. Nice bottle of dry white wine (Gava di Gava). Waiter service and advice on choices were outstanding. Highly recommend and will certainly dine there again. Thank you for an excellent meal.
