Affordable, solid dorm-like get-away in...

Liked: This is an old school student dorm that becomes free in the summer owing to the students being away. Decent single bed with a sink, shelves, desk and your own fridge. I am a professor and live in Montreal but needed to get away to meet some writing deadlines. This was solid accommodation and very affordable. The staff were helpful. If you are looking for a very reasonable price and do not mind staying in dorms, this is the place for you. Honestly, I would stay here again 100% when I need to get work done.
Disliked: People could be a bit noisy with slamming doors a bit late at night or in the wee hours of the morning. This was not the fault of the staff as their were signs all over telling people to keep it down. I would suggest that the showers be completely sealed off as is often done in places with shared bathrooms, for security. Not much to complain about tbh.

Liked: Not much since it’s a student lodge so can’t complain
Disliked: Small toilet and showerKeys to go in and out and room is way too warm

Good

Liked: Price is good, cooking facilities and safety is good. When I called about a clogged toilet, they fixed it right away. When I sent messages they responded right away. These are all good things.
Disliked: The elevator wasn’t working for the first couple of days, it was so hot in my room at times, and the 2nd floor bathroom needs to fix the drain so that the shower water can actually drain. They should label the garbage and recycling in English too. Several of the sorting bins were filled with incorrect items which means the efforts fail. English would help here.

Disappointing

Disliked: - bugs inside - no AC- staff zone off early - lights don’t work

Liked: Room felt secure was pretty clean, cheap accomodation, 5 minute walk from metro stop and had bus stop right outside the hotel, wifi was good, staff at the front desk were helpful and there was bag storage for once you'd checked out. You kinda get what you paid for.
Disliked: Its typical student accommodation so not recommended for families, definitely better off for solo travellers, shared bathrooms small bed etc, the rooms were hot, fan provided but no AC, on some nights there were some other guests who were slightly loud.
