YWCA Hotel Vancouver

Liked: I enjoyed my stay and the front desk staff was very helpful - she made us feel welcome, it was nice.

The price of the stay...

Liked: It was close to a lot of things and within walking distance to Chinatown and the downtown stores.

Very good

Liked: It's convenient, clean, tidy, and in a very convenient location downtown right next to the stadium. The staff were helpful and kind throughout. While I need to adjust my expectations, I would return.
Disliked: One washroom/toilet per floor is a little tight. I was hoping for at least a couple of toilets: waiting for someone to finish a shower, when in need of relief, can feel like an eternity.

Liked: The YWCA Hotel was in a great location within walking distance of most of the attractions in Downtown Vancouver, and close to public transit. It was very safe, clean and well maintained. The staff were helpful and there was free coffee in the morning which was a nice extra. The room had good amenities (fridge, sink) and a good view of the city. The rooftop patio was also really nice.
Disliked: The room was a bit small, but it was a budget option so that’s understandable.

Liked: The service, transportation, and location are all excellent, but unfortunately, the room’s sound insulation is very poor.

Pleasant and Convenient Stay in...

Liked: The location was much better than I expected, in that it was close to the waterfront, supermarkets, downtown, and public transit. I really enjoyed my nightly walks along the Coastal Trail. The rooftop deck was really nice too. The shared bathrooms were surprisingly usually available.
Disliked: Coffee & tea were only available in the mornings, and there were no coffee makers or water kettles in either the rooms or kitchens. I was also charged a different price than what I was quoted on Booking.com. I told the person at check in that she was charging me a different price, however she said it probably had to do with the conversion rate. This doesn't make sense because the charges on the bill were written in Canadian dollars so no currency was being converted. Sometimes the shared bathroom was a bit messy, but that's not the fault of the housekeeping, just the other guests.

Decent basic accommodation central to...

Liked: Great location, central for downtown. Clean and spacious.
Disliked: For the grade of property which is fairly basic - The price seems very inflated compared to other cities.
