Beautiful, quiet, and met all...
Liked: We loved the unique interior design, the private terrace of the secret room and the attentiveness of the staff. WE arrived much later than expected due to train delays, and there were very accommodating and even gave us restaurant recommendation that were open late on Sunday. Everything was top-notch!
Disliked: In the secret room, the shower design was very modern, but the shower entrance allowed for a lot of leaking water while using the shower. It didn't impact our enjoyment of the shower, but we did have to have the shower rugs replaced each day.

Liked: This is a lovely former private residence whose period features have been preserved, with modern furnishings. The room was bright with lots of natural light, ample storage and a comfortable bed. Unfortunately the room had a tiny bathroom whose floor got totally soaked every time we used the shower as it had only a partial glass shower door. It had a quality hair dryer and travel steamer. The 2 young women at the front desk (not the older one who is the manager) were very pleasant. The problem with this hotel is with their management, their performance and their dining facilities. We definitely did not get 5 star service at this establishment notwithstanding our timely communication of our complaints which are set out below to the hotel’s manager. We did not even receive an apology from her. Her only response was to “adjust” our restaurant bill by taking off the baked egg item referred to below for me!
Disliked: When we arrived (my husband and I with 2 single friends) the man at the desk advised us that we had all been upgraded. Kudos to the hotel for doing this. Our 2 friends were upgraded to larger rooms in the main hotel. My husband and I, however, were given a modern room devoid of any period charm, in a modern annex. If I had wanted a modern hotel I would have booked one. We asked to just be shown to the original room which I had booked, only to be told by the man that our prepaid room had been rented out to someone else! He told us that there was one other room, in the main hotel, that we could have; otherwise, there were only suites available and we would have to pay for one! There was no apology or “mea culpa” offered for the hotel’s actions. This was not in any way the response of a supposedly 5 star establishment. We agreed to take the room he offered us in the main building notwithstanding that it had a tiny bathroom, as we did not feel that we should be paying for a suite in the circumstances. Slippers and Kleenex were missing in the room. The 4 of us decided to eat on the terrace of the hotel’s restaurant that as we just wanted a quick dinner. We were the only customers. The young and clearly inexperienced server had to come back three times to get our order straight notwithstanding the very limited menu. I ordered the baked eggs with chorizo. I advised our server that I do not eat meat and asked her to check with the kitchen as to whether the chorizo could be left out. After checking she assured me that this was not a problem. One friend also ordered the baked eggs with the chorizo, and the rigatoni in a ragu sauce. Our other friend ordered white asparagus with hollandaise. The asparagus came drowning in hollandaise. The rigatoni was undercooked and I ended up with a mouthful of pork. My friend got no chorizo. I reordered it only to get a dish full of raw eggs. I advised the manager when she arrived the next morning but she did nothing
