Overpriced, unfriendly, and a total...
Liked: Honestly, very little. The location is the only decent thing.
Disliked: This was one of the worst hostel experiences I’ve had. They charged me for returning the key 20 minutes late, yet it took them over 3 weeks to refund my bond. That’s just shameless. The staff was rude, unhelpful, and seemed annoyed by basic questions. The prices they tell you don’t match what’s online — that’s straight-up false advertising.The layout of the building is a joke: tiny kitchens, poorly equipped, and uncomfortable. You eat in a separate small room with no ventilation and sealed windows. Not a single space feels like it was made for guests. They clearly only care about squeezing money out of people.

Liked: The room we had felt more like a hotel room than a hostel. Facilities were cleaned regularly, and it was noticeable. However, the building was quite cold. In particular, the shower rooms were freezing cold.
Disliked: On arrival, the receptionist was extremely rude. It felt as if he was reluctant to tend to us. He came across as condescending and not in the slightest bit helpful. We rang the doorbell to let us in at about 7:30 pm. He scowled and reluctantly opened the doors for us. He was on the phone and told us this in a very rude way. We asked him if there was a bathroom we could use while we waited for him to finish up his call (he should have checked us in and called them back), to which he responded none on this floor and walked into the back. After about 15 minutes of waiting for him, he eventually started to check us in. There was a 70 NZD deposit for a key, which we were fine with. However, when we asked for 2 keys, he was surprised and made a crude joke in relation to money. My friend and I were offended by his insinuations. His poor attitude continued throughout our stay here. The other workers were friendly, whilst he seemed suspicious of everyone staying there. The worker who treated us poorly was bald, wore glasses and often wore a blue Kia Ora top.
